Sofia is 11 months old!

Yesterday was Sofias’ 11 months birthday – if such a thing exists 🙂

While we did not do anything extra special, Sofia did manage two major accomplishments: she finally learned how to climb out of bed – feet first :). Mommy’s been trainig her for the last few months. It finally caught on.

And the second accomplishment, she learned how to imitate a cow 🙂 so when I ask her “Sofia, cum face vaca? She responds: mooooooo!”

Oh, the joys of watching your baby grow ……

La Munte (Mt Rainier)

Mommy, daddy and Sofia went to visit Mt Rainier this past weekend. It is the biggest mountain in the state of Washington, standing tall at over 14,000 ft.

The mountain also boasts some big glaciers, so besides it being tall and hard to climb, the glaciers make it even harder.

Of course we didn’t make it that far, we only made it up to Sunrise, which is the highest point you can get to by car, at 6,000 ft.
Here are some pics from our excursion:

Sofia and the lemon

The other night, mommy daddy and Sofia went out to eat at this really nice sushi restaurant overlooking the lake. We were seated outside on the patio, hopping to keep Sofia entertained by looking at the water.

But it didn’t work. She kept trying to get out of her highchair and look at the people behind her. So mommy gave her a lemon, in hopes of distracting her.

Here’s what happened 🙂

Visiting Seattle, part 1

Today we went to see Pike Place, an open air market in downtown Seattle. We had a great brunch at Etta’s, then we walked around the market looking at all the flowers, produce, meats, souvenirs and sidewalk performers, got some great Russian pastries for dessert and coffee from the first Starbucks ever opened, then we hang out on the lawn, by the water watching the birds and the people.

All in all, a great day!

On the baby mountain

The other night mommy, daddy and Sofia went to get dinner at Firenze’s, one of daddy’s favorite restaurants in Bellevue.

After dinner, while taking a stroll we came accross a big rock that we decided to name “the baby mountain”, because it looked like a mountain when Sofia got on it.

Look at her being all cute and ‘smechera’ 🙂

Sofia’s first airplane trip

On Sunday, Sofia mommy and daddy traveled to Seattle for daddy’s work. We will be here for about 2 months.

This was Sofia’s first trip in an airplane.

She enjoyed most of it, with the exception of the landing, when her ears started popping.

During the flight, she read the emegency instructions, played with puffy and pinky, ate pufuleti, took a nap, made a few friends and walked around with daddy.

We eventually made it to Seattle, tired and hungry, but safe.
